What is a naturopathic physician?

A naturopathic physician is a license primary care doctor who is clinically trained to diagnose and treat the same conditions that a general family practice medical doctor would.  NDs are considered to be one type of an alternative medicine practitioner. A naturopathic physician uses herbal, homeopathic, and nutritional supplements to treat conditions as well as utilizing lifestyle counseling and lab testing to provide the most benefit to a patient’s needs.  A naturopathic physician is always focused on finding the underlying root cause of an illness, rather than treating symptoms.
